Moara de Vint Nisporeni (Nisporeni windmill)

Windmills were long an ordinary feature of the rural landscape in the Republic of Moldova, and those that have survived have become local landmarks. The attraction itself is the mill structure, viewed from the outside. Getting there

Nisporeni is the seat of the district of the same name, in western Moldova, roughly 80 km from Chișinău heading west, towards the Prut. The drive takes about an hour and a half. As an open-air site, access is possible at any time — the listed hours are around the clock, seven days a week. In practice, the best light for photographs is early morning or towards evening.
