Aqualand Green Village

Aqualand Green Village is the water park of the Green Village complex near Cahul, in the village of Roșu, roughly 175 kilometres south of Chișinău. It operates daily with long hours — from 10:00 until midnight — and is one of the few destinations of its kind in the south of the country. Access is adapted for disabled visitors, both at the entrance and in the car park. A visitor rating of 4.5 places it among the leisure landmarks of the Cahul region.

Southern Moldova is not rich in family leisure destinations, and Aqualand Green Village fills exactly that gap. It is the water component of the Green Village complex, set in the village of Roșu, near Cahul, and serves as a recreation point for a whole corner of the country — including visitors who come to the area for the southern thermal baths and vineyards.

What you'll see

It is a conventional water park, with laid-out water areas and leisure infrastructure, designed for visits of a few hours or a full day. Being part of a larger tourist complex, it combines easily with a meal and an overnight stay on site, which makes it suitable for groups and families who do not want to drive back to Chișinău the same day.

For exact details on pools, slides and prices — which change from one season to the next — check the official site green-village.net or call 0785 91 000 before setting out. If you are staying overnight in the area, compare the places to stay in Cahul district.

Getting there

The complex is in the village of Roșu, on the edge of the town of Cahul, at the southern extremity of the Republic of Moldova. The distance from Chișinău is roughly 175 kilometres, about two and a half to three hours by car on the main southbound route. Cahul is well connected to the capital by coach services, but for the complex at Roșu a car remains the convenient option. General information is in the transport guide.

The car park and the entrance are accessible for wheelchair users.

When to go

The hours are daily, from 10:00 until 00:00, all seven days of the week. The peak season is summer, July and August, when the southern days are the hottest in the country and numbers are at their highest. If you want quiet, choose an early morning or a weekday. A summer weekend means crowds.

Good to know

  • Suitable for children; they are, in fact, the main summer audience.
  • Wheelchair access at the entrance and in the car park.
  • Long hours, until midnight — late-afternoon visits are possible too.
  • Bring a towel, pool shoes, sun cream and a dry change of clothes.
  • The Cahul area also has a good range of restaurants and of tours and excursions in the wine-growing south.
